The mission of the Center for Community Health and Aging is to increase the capacity of individuals, institutions and communities to improve population health and aging well across the life course utilizing a community health development approach and multi-level evidenced-based solution.

Center for Craniofacial Research & Diagnosis

The mission of the Center for Craniofacial Research & Diagnosis is to increase our understanding of normal and pathological craniofacial biology leading to better patient treatment of the craniofacial region. Organizationally, the center represents a consortium of both internal and external related, but independent research programs that share a common interest in basic craniofacial biology with the translational goal of new treatments.

Center for Epigenetics and Disease Prevention

The mission of the Center for Epigenetics & Disease Prevention is to identify novel protective agents from natural sources and, via a new “field-to-clinic” paradigm, test for efficacy in human subjects. Epigenetics research is at the frontier of biomedical research, and the epigenome is one of the most promising targets for disease prevention.

Center for Health Equity and Evaluation Research

The Center for Health Equity & Evaluation Research (CHEER) engages in interdisciplinary research and evaluation services to reduce and eliminate health disparities; to identify emerging health needs of underserved and vulnerable populations globally; and to promote quality of life and health outcomes for diverse segments of the population.

Center for Infectious and Inflammatory Diseases

Infection can be regarded as a war where the pathogenic microorganism is the attacker and we are the defender. The Center for Infectious and Inflammatory Disease is interested in understanding the molecular details of pathogenic microorganisms to design strategies to block the attack molecules of the microbe and boost the defense systems of the challenged host. The goal is to develop novel strategies and products to prevent and treat infectious diseases.

Center for Translational Cancer Research

The mission of the Center for Translational Cancer Research is to promote the translation of discoveries in cancer cell biology into interventions of value in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease.

Center of Excellence in Forensic Nursing

Established to support people who experience violence across the lifespan, the Texas A&M Center of Excellence in Forensic Nursing facilitates interprofessional collaborations to offer unsurpassed research and training opportunities by providing forensic nursing education and outreach for nurses, other medical professionals, law enforcement, attorneys, social workers and advocates.

Southwest Rural Health Research Center

The Southwest Rural Health Research Center is a nationally funded and recognized center established more than a decade ago to address the needs of rural and underserved populations across Texas and the nation. The center comprises a unique combination of faculty expertise in health policy, health economics, aging, long-term care, health law, epidemiology and biostatistics, and chronic disease.

Texas A&M Center for Innovation in Advanced Development and Manufacturing

The Center for Innovation in Advanced Development and Manufacturing is accelerating research and development of vaccines and therapeutics and will rapidly produce these products in case of pandemics or other national emergencies.

Texas A&M Clinical Learning Resource Center

The Clinical Learning Resource Center (CLRC) trains and educates students, area hospitals and clinic groups. Inside the center, students refine their fundamental and clinical skills in a controlled, simulated health care environment. Highly specialized instructional technology is utilized, including computer-programmed full-body manikins with the capacity to realistically simulate a range of physiological states and responses.

Texas A&M Ergonomics Center

The Texas A&M Ergonomics Center aims to improve worker performance, safety and health by applying ergonomic designs and interventions to existing and emerging technologies. We focus on the impacts of aging, sedentary behavior, obesity and technology design on the health and productivity of the current and future workforce. The center’s research and activities focus on a wide variety of occupational health and safety topics including office ergonomics, effective procedure writing and displays, occupational biomechanics and cognitive workload evaluation.

The USA Center for Rural Public Health Preparedness

The USA Center for Rural Public Health Preparedness strengthens the public health workforce readiness in predominantly rural and underserved areas through implementation of lifelong learning programs. The center also strengthens the capacity at state, regional, local and tribal levels for a rural public health emergency response.

Research Institutes

A&M Rural and Community Health Institute

The A&M Rural and Community Health Institute (ARCHI) is a health extension center offering programs that promote safe, effective health care practices. ARCHI serves as a bridge for health care professionals and their organizations with academic centers, policymakers and researchers to improve the quality and safety of patient care. For some small community or rural facilities that may find it difficult to produce certain programs and services on their own, the institute provides simple solutions.

Cardiovascular Research Institute

The Cardiovascular Research Institute fosters communication and collaboration among faculty involved in cardiovascular research, education and training. The major objective of this institute is to discover and disseminate new knowledge about the heart, blood vessels and lymphatics in normal and disease states.

Texas A&M Clinical Science and Translational Research Institute

The Texas A&M Clinical Science and Translational Research (CSTR) Institute is a multi-institutional initiative of Texas A&M University and Health Science Center, and their affiliates, in partnership with Houston Methodist Hospital and Research Institute, to promote the highest quality clinical and translational research across Texas A&M and its partner institutions and train the next generation of researchers capable of expediting the application of biomedical advances into patient care and improved population health.

Texas A&M and Driscoll Children’s Hospital Global Institute for Hispanic Health

The Global Institute for Hispanic Health advances the health of the Hispanic community, ensuring the needs of the population are addressed when developing new drugs and life-saving therapies. It is closely tied to the Texas A&M Healthy South Texas initiative to improve the health of rural populations throughout the state.

Texas A&M Health Institute for Healthcare Accessh

The Institute for Healthcare Access at Texas A&M Health brings together professionals in health and law to frame and advance solutions to the most significant problems that hinder access to timely, effective, affordable health care for individuals and communities.

Texas A&M Health Institute of Biosciences and Technology

Researchers at the Texas A&M Health Institute of Biosciences and Technology in Houston work to improve the quality of health care through innovative research and education.
