The Bachelor of Science in dental hygiene satisfies the educational requirement for eligibility for state licensure as a dental hygienist. These preventive oral health professionals work in private dental practices and clinics, public health agencies, school systems, hospitals, nursing homes and corporate health facilities.

The Master of Science in oral biology is designed primarily to provide advanced scientific training for graduates of dental programs and students enrolled in a clinical specialty program at Texas A&M College of Dentistry. This program is also well suited for dental specialists from countries other than the United States who desire to obtain or improve their background in dental research.

Students in the Doctor of Philosophy program in oral biology receive training in the fields of craniofacial development and genetics, bioengineering and regeneration, mineralized tissue biology and neuroscience and pain. Students may pursue research in cellular and molecular mechanisms, experimental studies, and clinical studies of development, growth, aging, function, disease and treatment.

The program leading to the degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery is designed to develop broadly competent practitioners who provide the highest quality patient care while encouraging an appreciation of research and a spirit of inquiry. As one of only three dental schools in Texas, its graduates make up nearly one-third of all dentists in the state.

An innovative Doctor of Medicine curriculum was recently introduced to bring more flexibility and individualization to the education process, to create lifelong learners and bring better health care to all. The curriculum integrates basic science content more closely with clinical context, provides clinical exposure earlier and reinforces basic science content in clinical rotations.

The Doctorate of Philosophy in Medical Science program provides cutting-edge research training with a flexible and interdisciplinary curriculum with six focus tracks (biochemistry & structural biology, cardiovascular and lymphatic biology, cell and molecular biology, clinical and translational science, microbial pathogenesis & immunology and neurosciences) that allow students a highly personalized training program.

The Graduate Program in Medical Science provides a broad background in basic sciences with focus on applications of this background to medical problems with six focus tracks (biochemistry & structural biology, cardiovascular and lymphatic biology, cell and molecular biology, clinical and translational science, microbial pathogenesis & immunology and neurosciences).

Students in the master’s program, which is designed to develop skills to become excellent teachers in their areas of specialty, may pick a 36-hour non-thesis track that requires a project, or students can complete 34 hours with a thesis. With either option, students will learn how to conduct research to improve and develop innovative educational programs in health professions education.

This combined training program leading to both Doctor of Medicine and Doctorate of Philosophy degrees provides research training for highly motivated medical students planning careers in academic medicine. Such training produces medical scientists with a valuable, and well-balanced, ability to relate their study of clinical medicine with basic biomedical science and provide unique insights into human disease processes.

The MD Plus Program is committed to providing students the skills needed to take leadership roles in the healthcare industries, and combining a business degree through Mays Business School with a medical degree allows graduates to excel in areas of health care entrepreneurship and manage health care teams and organizations.

The MD Plus Program is committed to providing students the skills needed to take leadership roles in the health care industries, and combining a Master of Public Health degree from the School of Public Health with a medical degree allows graduates to become key advisors in health care policy for government and private organizations.

The increasing complexities of health care delivery put a premium on professionals who understand and meet the demands required to deliver innovative, collaborative, and compassionate care. This MD Plus Program, an integrated five-year course of study, is a pathway for students who are interested in enhancing options in their medical careers by also earning a Master of Science in Medical Science (MS).

The new Engineering Medicine (EnMed) program allows students to obtain an engineering degree along with their medical degree in an integrated five-year course of study. Graduates will be well poised to develop new therapy paradigms and pharmaceuticals and solve a variety of health care problems.

This program combines a Doctor Medicine with a Master of Science in Education for Healthcare Professionals. The MD+EDHP program is committed to providing students the skills needed to take leadership roles and who wish to pursue academic teaching careers by expanding their knowledge of teaching and curriculum development.

For students who wish to expand their knowledge of teaching and curriculum development, the certificate program prepares students to teach in a variety of settings with an interdisciplinary team. Coursework may be applied to the master's degree if the student wishes to pursue the advanced degree in the future.

The Texas A&M School of Nursing is committed to addressing the critical nursing shortage across Texas, and strives to produce the most prepared nurses. Students may earn a traditional or second-degree Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and currently registered nurses with an associate’s degree may earn their BSN online with both full-time and part-time course loads.

The Master of Science in nursing education prepares the graduate to take on the role of educator in various patient care settings and in institutions of higher education through completion of a 36-hour curriculum. The course instruction is delivered primarily online allowing students to balance career, family and other responsibilities while advancing their education.

The Master Science in nursing–Family Nurse Practitioner track prepares the graduate to practice as a primary care provider to a wide range of clients while focusing on health promotion, risk reduction, disease prevention and illness management. The majority of course instruction is delivered online allowing students to balance career, family and other responsibilities, while advancing their education.

The Master of Science in Nursing–Forensic Nursing track prepares the graduate to care for victims and perpetrators of traumatic events or criminal acts that result in trauma or death. While caring for their patients, the forensic nurse is also responsible for observing, recognizing, collecting and documenting forensic evidence related to the traumatic event or criminal act for subsequent use in civil or criminal legal proceedings.

The Doctor of Nursing Practice degree prepares graduates for practice-based leadership and to combat the shortage of advanced practice providers. Building upon the experiences and education already held as professional nurses, the DNP program supports students in effectively analyzing and evaluating the quality, safety, effectiveness and efficiency of patient care and systems of care.

The multidisciplinary graduate certificate in forensic health care allows health care workers, protective service investigators/case workers, social workers, law enforcement, prosecutors and other professionals holding a minimum of a bachelor’s degree to sharpen their skills in assisting victims of violence and trauma.

The Doctor of Pharmacy degree, the first health professions program established south of San Antonio, recruits and trains talented and caring future pharmacists who will provide excellent patient care and serve as catalysts for advancing the practice of pharmacy. Students begin applying what they have learned by their second year through participating in community practice and hospital pharmacy rotations.

The School of Pharmacy has partnered with the College of Business Administration at Texas A&M University-Kingsville to provide students with an opportunity to earn a Master’s of Business Administration while working towards a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, preparing them for both the clinical aspects of pharmacy practice and management positions within pharmacies.

The Department of Health Behavior offers a Bachelor of Science in Health-Allied Health Track and a Bachelor of Science in Community Health. Allied Health provides a background in health sciences, health education, and an opportunity to complete professional school prerequisites. Community Health prepares students to serve as community health educators and promoters.

The Bachelor of Science in Public Health degree program is based on a philosophy of health promotion and disease prevention, to improve the quality of life of individuals, families, and communities. Graduates of the BSPH program will be able to assess factors influencing health in populations as well as plan, design, implement, and successfully manage effective health care programs and interventions.

The Health Minor is designed for students who want to develop knowledge in health-related topics and engage in courses which complement or enhance the myriad of degree programs available at Texas A&M University. The majority of the courses for this minor are available online.

The Public Health minor is based on a philosophy of health promotion and disease prevention, to improve the quality of life of individuals, families and communities. Students will receive an introduction to the foundational and social issues of Public Health as well as gain an understanding of threats to public health and the role that our environment affects both the practice and applications of public health.

According to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, 4,821 workers were killed on the job in 2014. As a future employer or manager it’s critical to understanding how to keep your employees safe and healthy. Students in the Occupational Safety and Health minor will gain a basic understand of public health practices to address the risks at various workplaces and how to prevent injuries and fatalities.

The Master of Public Health degree is a multidisciplinary professional degree program designed to provide practical training in areas related to public health practice. We offer six concentrations for the student to select as their major:  Environmental Health, Occupational Safety and Health, Health Behavior, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, and Health Policy and Management.

The Master of Health Administration is a professional degree program intended for students pursuing administrative practice in health service related settings. The vision of the program is to develop health care managers who will provide leadership for their organizations and communities based on a strong commitment to public health, ethics, integrity and service as well as demonstrate the ability to implement innovative ways of meeting health care needs of a diverse society.

This MS degree is designed to train the next generation of health education specialists that provide and manage programs through the provision of foundational and professional classroom education combined with real-world opportunities. Future health education specialists are prepared to work with individuals, families and communities to maximize and maintain healthy lifestyles.

The Doctor of Philosophy in Health Education prepares students to conduct research in basic and applied health education. A transdisciplinary approach is used to produce researchers and academicians who are trained to understand how one’s health and wellness is both positively and negatively influenced by one’s total environment.

The Doctor of Philosophy in Health Services Research is designed to prepare students to conduct high-quality research addressing important health services issues through intensive education in research methods. Students will be provided opportunities for advanced training in health policy, organization theory, and health economics along with applied knowledge in specific substantive areas of health policy or management.

The Doctor of Public Health Sciences is an advanced professional degree for those whose career goals are in the area of professional practice in public health, including current and potential leaders in public health practice. We offer three concentrations you may choose from, including Epidemiology, Environmental Health, and Health Behavior.

Students can earn a combined BSPH/MPH degree through an intensive program within five years. Students will begin the master's curriculum during their undergraduate senior year. They will receive both degrees upon completion of the program to then become competitive in the workforce or for health profession programs.

The School of Public Health and the College of Engineering have created a dual degree that gives students the opportunity to receive both the Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Engineering and Master of Public Health in Occupational Safety and Health through a five-year program. The graduate curriculum is traditional begun during the fourth year of the undergraduate career.

The Bush School and the School of Public Health have combined to offer students the ability to receive both a Master of International Affairs degree and a Master of Public Health degree in a three year period. International affairs increasingly deals with issues of global cooperation on preventing and responding to pandemics and other transborder health issues. Students will begin in the MPH program then complete the MIA program in their final four semesters.

With multiple courses of study, the program is designed to meet students' varied interests.

The School of Law and the School of Public have combined to offer students the ability to receive both a Juris Doctor (JDLW) degree and a Health Policy & Management (PHPM) Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in four years.

The Graduate Certificate in Global Health Program is an interdisciplinary certification that is available to all graduate students at Texas A&M University. Its purpose is to teach public health professionals about global perspectives on public health, encourage students to consider careers in a variety of settings around the world, and to promote research and innovation in addressing the myriad public health problems seen around the world.

The Health Systems Management Certificate is intended for students who are, or expect to be, working in a health care setting. This 12 graduate hour certificate focuses on public health and health care management knowledge, abilities, and skills needed for individuals working alongside health care administrators. Upon completion of the certificate, students will have a strong foundation of health care management and be prepared to work alongside health care managers and executives.

The Texas A&M School of Public Health offers a Maternal and Child Health (MCH) certificate to increase MCH competencies to graduate-level students. This is an interdisciplinary certificate that partners with departments across the School of Public Health.
