About
Dr. Williamson is a licensed psychologist with a strong history of addressing psychosocial issues related to chronic health conditions including obesity, diabetes, tobacco use, chronic pain and insomnia. She is well-versed in cognitive behavioral therapy, prolonged exposure therapy, cognitive processing therapy, integrated behavioral couples’ therapy and motivational interviewing.
In her current position at Texas A&M Health Family Care, she specializes in physician-patient communication and prepares medical residents to treat behavioral health concerns in rural settings. Through these activities, she obtained a profound understanding of the need for sustainable interventions targeting diverse individuals at risk for chronic medical and mental health conditions.
Dr. Williamson earned her PhD in Counseling Psychology at Texas A&M University. She has completed internships and fellowships with the Central Texas Veterans Health Care System and Veterans Affairs North Texas Health Care System. She is married to Dr. Brandon Williamson, a primary care physician at Texas A&M Health Family Care.
